San Miguel de Allende, Mexico’s cultural gem, is gearing up to welcome back the San Miguel Arts Festival (FASMA) for its highly anticipated 2025 edition, running from August 1 to 17. Following its 2023 iteration—which brought together nearly 30 city-supported cultural organizations and over 100 artistic events—this year’s festival promises an even more ambitious and thrilling program.
A Festival That Unites the Community
Since its debut, FASMA has become a cornerstone for artists, locals, and visitors alike, celebrating creativity in all its forms. In 2023, Austria was the guest country, featuring unforgettable events—from the opening performance by tenor Fernando de la Mora at the Jardín Principal to neighborhood showcases and interactive workshops with artists.
For 2025, FASMA will once again open its doors for two weeks in August, offering a diverse lineup of exhibitions, music, theater, literature, and family-friendly activities. Key upgrades—like an enhanced digital platform and an innovative online ticketing system—will streamline the attendee experience.
What’s New in 2025?
This year’s standout innovation is the Ambassador Program, inviting San Miguel residents to bring at least five guests to the festival. The goal? To attract 2,500 visitors and cement the city’s status as Mexico’s cultural hub. Additionally, each participating organization will host free events for youth and children, tailored to their mission. The festival also aims to engage the tourism sector—especially restaurants and hotels—to boost cultural tourism.
A Forward-Thinking Festival
To ensure long-term sustainability, FASMA has forged sponsor partnerships and revamped its website with features like search filters, photo/video galleries, and online tickets. Free community events in neighborhoods and public spaces will further foster local involvement.
From now until August, follow FASMA’s social media for updates—and join this extraordinary celebration of art!
