San Miguel de Allende, Mexico — The Music Society of San Miguel (MSSM) proudly announces its Summer 2025 Season, reviving the mission and spirit of the beloved San Miguel Chamber Music Festival—reimagined for today’s audiences.
As part of the 2025 San Miguel Festival of the Arts (FASMA), MSSM will present three world-class concerts at the historic Teatro Ángela Peralta.
On Saturday, August 2, the opening concert, Jonah Kim & Friends, features acclaimed cellist Jonah Kim with award-winning artists Sean Kennard (Barclay Trio – “powerful and deeply engaged” – The Washington Post), Doori Na, Eric Silberger (“shattering… astonishing” – The Guardian), and Mexico’s Javier García-Lascurain, in a program of Mendelssohn, Brahms, and premieres by resident composer Sheridan Seyfried.
On Friday, August 8, Dutch pianist Gile Bae, a Bösendorfer Artist and international competition winner, offers a solo recital with works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Prokofiev—a night of virtuosity and expression.
On Wednesday, August 13, Afro-Cuban jazz takes the spotlight with Jesús “Chuchito” Valdés, seven-time Grammy nominee, honoring the legacy of his legendary father and grandfather, Chucho and Bebo Valdés. He’s joined by his trio and guest, Iranian multi-instrumentalist Nader Khaledi, in a vibrant fusion of cultures and rhythm.
Running in parallel is the Summer 2025 Educational Program, from August 2 to 9. On August 9, MSSM also presents the Rising Stars Showcase—an international competition and gala concert at Hotel La Morada, featuring original artwork by Alejandro Trejo.
Under the artistic direction of Jonah Kim and leadership of Luis Eduardo Quezada, the Music Society of San Miguel invites local and global audiences to join this extraordinary musical celebration.
Experience the music. Experience summer in San Miguel de Allende, a UNESCO World Heritage City alive with art, history, and community.
