Luis Felipe Rodríguez
The Ballet Folklórico Representativo de San Miguel de Allende, was formed in 1975 at the Cultural Center “El Nigromante” (INBA), being the founder and director of the group Gloria Rodríguez Navarrete. Later, in 1990, Gabriela Rodríguez Chagoyán (†) took the reins of this group and continued with their great work, always maintaining and instilling in each of her students, until December 2020, the love and passion for dance.
The trajectory of the Ballet has a large number of presentations in our city and it has been a worthy representative of our beautiful San Miguel de Allende and in our state of Guanajuato, but also in different states of Mexico.
The Folkloric Ballet has distinguished itself for its creativity, participation and the preservation of our traditions and folklore. In 1998, by official recognition of the government, it was officially recognized as “BALLET DE DANZA FOLCLÓRICA REPRESENTATIVO DE SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE DE LA CASA DE LA CULTURA”.
It is worth mentioning that “EL BALLET FOLKLÓRICO REPRESENTATIVO DE SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE” is made up of children, young people and professionals, dedicated to Mexican folklore and sheltered by that affection and love for dance and for the work they develop on stage, that passion that it was instilled in them by its directors. One more detail: this Folkloric Ballet not only engages in dancing, but also participates in each of the traditional activities that are held and developed throughout the year in this beautiful municipality of San Miguel de Allende.
